(I am not even Fifty and I am Already Dead)
A man watches through a window in some place of Paris and looks back on his life: the early discovery of sexuality together with Virginia, the life in the headquarters where his father was a general, the encounter with a homeless who is killed by him and Virginia (was colonel Lugones or not?). A novel built through the perspective of a man who develop forced theories upon time, who accepts sex as the last of the possible moments of happiness, and who makes his living by forging documents for illegal people who wish to enter into Europe. This is a man who is used to trick others since he committed murder being almost a child. «Am I a torturer or a political exile? A psychopath or an ultra-right wing militant that goes after crooks? A romantic or a nihilist? Am I good or bad? Am I the devil?».
This is a novel filled with characters marked by the culture of death, revenge, and sex. Men and women who act as if they should pay a debt generated before they were born. They live in a world which equilibrium depends on trivial things: in this case, a small object buried years before together with the body of the murdered homeless.
